Traveling Europe on a Budget
Everyone wants to travel around Europe. There are just so many countries to visit, each with their own completely different culture and story. But please don’t be put off by the cost. Traveling around this continent doesn’t mean you have to win the lottery. You just need to organize it well and adapt the trip to your budget.
If you are traveling to Europe from another continent, perhaps the most expensive part of the trip will be the airline tickets to your starting destination. However, traveling within Europe is relatively cheap and you can usually find great offers with low cost airlines. Many Non-Europeans are unaware of the low cost fever which hit the continent big style during the 90s, with airlines such as EasyJet and RyanAir taking over the airline world. If you are planning a tour of Europe, try and book with these airlines in advance and you could travel for as little as a euro (taxes not included).
Other ways of traveling cheaply around Europe are via train. You can either buy an Interrail (for EU residents only) or Eurorail (for Non-EU residents) pass, which is a great way of enjoying a budget friendly train holiday around Europe. Traveling by train is easy in the European continent because the distances are shorter.
So those are the two options for getting to and traveling around Europe. When it comes to accommodation, there is something for everyone. Searching online is the best way to find the cheapest accommodation and it is recommended to book in advance if you plan to travel during the high-season. If you find somewhere you like, but aren’t sure whether it is suitable, you should read hotel reviews to find out what other travelers are saying about it.
So….traveling around Europe is for everyone despite your budget. Just remember to do lots of research online to get the best fares for your flights and the right accommodation. Then you can get ready to dance flamenco with the Spanish, sample foie gras on top of the Eiffel Tower, step back in time in Rome and discover more about Berlin’s grueling history. Europe awaits you!
