A Google search for “Travel Insurance Companies” comes back with nearly 12 million listings. So how do you find the right one to protect you and your trip? Insurance by its very nature is a gamble–you may need it or you may not–but choosing the right company does not have to be. Like any business, travel insurance companies have reputations, and there are a few simple things you can look for and do to help you find a reputable company.

Recognition from Legitimate Organizations:

The testimonial by Jimmy J. on XYZ Travel Insurance’s website may be glowing, but it could also be fake. But guess what isn’t fake? The company’s rating on the Better Business Bureau Online (BBB). The BBB’s online site will give you information about complaints against the company and how they were resolved. Two additional sources to check companies against are the A.M. Best and the U.S. Travel Association. The former provides information about the company’s financial ability to payout on claims, while the latter is a national association for travel insurance agencies and carriers designed in part to educate consumers. Companies and providers listed through the U. S. Travel Association are recognized as being reputable.

“Free Look” Period:

This is essentially a money back guarantee on your policy. After you purchase your travel insurance, the company gives you certain amount of time (generally 10 to 15 days and your travels can not have started) to review the terms of the full contract, so that you can be positive about what your policy covers. If you decide to cancel the policy for a refund during the “free look” period, you may be charged a minimal processing fee ($5 to $10).

Travel Insurance Company (A) Vs.

You compare hotels and flights on sites like Kayak, so why not comparison shop for your cheap holiday insurance and get multiple quotes in one sitting. Generally, you will only need to enter a few details such as your destination, age, trip cost and travel dates to begin comparing quotes.

I had to unsubscribe to beerandbeans due to the number of spam posts like this.

So sorry to hear that but we respect your decision. Just to let you know this is not a spam post either. Randy researched and wrote this post and the photo is one I took a few years back. We only provide blog posts that we feel are relevant and useful to our readers and we do not allow spam.
      Have a good day 🙂 @Unsubscribed,

@Bethany, sometimes probably it is difficult to keep balance between real posts and posts dedicated for seo 🙂

Well I am a bad travel blogger in that way – I don’t actually write for SEO and neither does Randy. So to be honest we never thought about that when writing this post. Not really trying to rank for travel insurance just trying to provide useful information.

never knew that there was such a thing as travel free look period for insurance. I guess I do you determine if its a good fit in those 10-15 days if nothing even happens and I am assuming you really have to have a trip going on so you can test it out as well.
