At least the first part anyway. We are currently driving from California to Massachusetts. We are having an AMAZING time! I have so many photos to post – I just can’t wait. As a little update, we left last Wed morning and we have been going non-stop. We leave for Iceland in 10 days – crazy!

We have been camping for our entire drive, except tonight, which is our first night in a hotel and the first time I have been able to plug the computer in and get a quick post out. I was completely swamped with the X-Games assignments & two weddings before I left and unable to prepare any posts which is why we have had such a long gap. In the week before we left I only got 24 hours of sleep total! But being on the road has more than made up for all the lack of sleep. 🙂 I’ll be sure to make up for the lack of recent posts of when I get to Mass and I’ll have things lined up for Iceland in case we end up in a similar situation without WiFi and an outlet!

Really things have been just fantastic since we started the drive and we’ve winded through Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota & we are now currently in Minnesota. We’ve hit up three different National Parks – Grand Teton, Yellowstone & Badlands. They have all been beautiful and so far the Badlands has been my favorite. In fact, I think I may have left my heart in South Dakota – it was really that spectacular.

I have many, many more photos to come and some great campground tips for camping across the United States. I am also going to post our daily budget for this section of the trip so that if any of you are considering a similar trip, you’ll have an idea of what it costs.

The photo above is from Badlands National Park in South Dakota. A truly magical place – a must see if you are in the region. I can’t wait to put up the other pictures from this amazing place but I hope you like this one in the meantime. 🙂

Sounds like a stellar start to your trip! I can’t wait to read about the rest of your journeys. The Badlands look spectacular – sad I’ve never been even though I went to college in Minnesota.

Hi Amiee! I think you would love the Badlands! I liked it even more than Bryce & Zion. It was perfect.@Amiee,

EEEEEEEEEE Beth! I am so stoked for you that your journey has begun! I was also wondering where you had disappeared off to. We’re also apparently road tripping to opposite sides of the country lol. Best wishes!

Gorgeous photo! I grew up in California and lived in NYC for some years without any real desire to travel within my own home country. I’ve visited countless foreign places but wow! This pic really makes me want to explore more of the States! Good luck on your road trip!

Thanks Aaron! The western U.S. is REALLY amazing! Well all parts are good but the west is my personal favorite. I’ve got tons more pics coming up that will def. make you want to hang out with cowboys and indians in the great west. 🙂@Aaron | BeforeYOUBackpack.com,

Loved the photos, look like so beautiful landscapes and undisturbed nature. I have few photos of Safari in Kenya in case you want to have a look at.
