Sponsored Video: The Making of Safety in Paradise.

By Posted in - Unruly on February 7th, 2014 Palm trees, white sand and blue water on Cook Island.

After flying all around the world, I’ve noticed it’s the little details from airlines that help set a good tone for a flight. It could be mood lighting, a well-written magazine or a clever flight safety videos, like the one Air New Zealand recently produced with Sports Illustrated.

We haven’t had a chance to fly Air New Zealand yet, but I have seen some of its other innovative safety videos trending on social media, and they’re definitely the best in the business. In the past, the airline has had a Hobbit inspired film as well as another one featuring everyone’s favorite Golden Girl, Betty White. And now Air New Zealand has partnered with Sports Illustrated for a brand new safety video—Safety in Paradise—to celebrate Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s edition 50th anniversary.

Air New Zealand’s latest video was filmed in the gorgeous Cook Islands and features a who’s who list of models, who actually make the already idyllic island destination look even more stunning. Growing up, I spent a lot of time reading the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and watching Baywatch, so I consider myself a connoisseur of sorts in the matters of beautiful women on beautiful beaches. After watching this preview a few times (for research purposes, of course), I get the feeling that this is going to be Air New Zealand’s most popular safety video yet.

Safety in Paradise will be released on February 12 (my birthday—yay!) and I’m excited to see how the final cut comes out, and whether or not it becomes an instant classic among safety videos.

What do you think, is this an instant classic? Let us know in the comment section!

It will definitely make people actually watch the safety instructions. I really enjoyed the hobbit video so I’m looking forward to see how this one turns out!
