Paris Apartment With A KILLER View Of The Eiffel Tower.

Oh, Paris! I’ve camped along your waterways, been verbally trashed by your sexiest hostel slumlord and found peace in a 200 square foot apartment that looked out onto Henri Matisse’s pleasure den.

Over the past two years, Beth and I have been fortunate enough to spend a number of nights in Paris.  We fell in love with the city during our first visit in September 2010 when we pitched a tent for a week at the Bois De Boulogne Campground. Since then, we’ve stayed in apartments, hostels and hotel rooms, but it wasn’t until our last visit that we found a true home. Gabrielle Montmartre  immediately caught our eye as we scanned Wimdu for a place to stay. The reviews were great, the photos were plentiful, the location looked epic, the apartment featured WiFi, and most importantly it fit our price range and was available for our dates. So we clicked the “Book Now” button and waited for confirmation from the host, which came shortly after.

By the time we arrived at Gabrielle Montmartre a week later, Beth and I were exhausted. After a wild week at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, all we wanted was a relaxing spot from which we could work, explore and absorb the city of lights. By the time we got to our hillside apartment, we had pretty much forgotten about how fantastic this place looked online when we booked it, and we’re just content to have a place to toss our bags.

But as soon as I walked through the front door of this third floor flat, all of the images came flooding back and I got a gigantic grin, which, honestly, I don’t think I lost the entire time that we stayed at Gabrielle Montmartre. As we toured the one bedroom apartment with our host, Alexandre, and the space unfolded in front of us, I quickly felt at home. After a couple of years of staying in apartment rentals in Europe, it’s easy for me to spot hosts who care about the guest’s experience and those who don’t really get it. Alexandre is the former, in fact, he’s one of the best we have encountered.

Not only was the space very clean, there was a lot of care and love put into the flat to make it really sparkle. A few of my favorite things were: the heated bathroom floor, a high end and very comfortable queen-size bed, and the woodwork, which looked fantastic and added more functionality to the space. Really, there are so many little details that I could go on and on. Luckily, Beth got some fabulous pictures of the apartment so you can see everything for yourself. 

Plus, I’m dying to tell you about the best part of this Montmartre flat–the view. From the spacious balcony, you have full and unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower, and all of Paris for that matter. It is truly one of the best views in Paris!  While loads of people make the trek up to the Sacre-Couer Basilica to soak up the amazing view from the cathedral, you can actually enjoy an even better view from the comfort of your own private balcony 24 hours a day. And let’s not forget you are in one of the best neighborhoods in Paris. You could literally spend you entire trip exploring all of the intricate nooks and crannies that make up this famed artist neighborhood.
