As a child of the glorious 1980s, I was lucky enough to be educated by some of the greatest adventure movies ever made–The Goonies, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and, my personal favorite, The Muppets Take Manhattan.
My friends and I lived these movies. During summer vacation we’d venture out into the woods behind our suburban homes, looking for treasures, artifacts, fossils, arrowheads, and anything we else we could find that seemed cool to us.
We embodied the adventure and nothing got us more jazzed than replica treasure maps. With a map in hand we could create our own role playing games, which were limited only by our imaginations.
It’s funny the things that stick with you from childhood. Even to this day, I get a little chocked up when I see Chunk–for the 1000th time–busting out the truffle shuffle. And, if I get wind of a treasure hunt competition (even it is just at the supermarket), forget about it, I’m going all in.
Now, I know I’m not alone in my love of a good treasure hunt, which is why I am stoked to be able to give you the heads up about this new contest from Lynx, the makers of all those fine smelling body products for men, and now women too.
The first person to complete the Lynx treasure hunt will win the grand prize of a “money can’t buy” pair of tickets to Chaos Island, where they’ll have the chance to shake their booty in true Lynx style. And for those who play, but don’t come in first, their names will be entered into a drawing to win another pair of tickets.
Lynx has put together this pretty classy video to set its treasure hunt off right. Be warned though, the jingle will get stuck in your head.
I also just found out that in addition to the their current contest, Lynx is creating five other treasure hunts across the web to win more tickets, so keep checking back on the Lynx Effect Facebook page every Tuesday at 4pm and Saturday at 10am to start another adventure.
