Where will your discount take you?

No matter if you are saving for an extended trip or just a weekend getaway, one of the best ways to pad your travel funds is to save as much as possible on your transportation, especially flights, and your accommodations.  Seems obvious right? But sometimes good deals are harder to come by. You may see an excellent flight deal one day and it’s gone the next, same goes with hotels too.

Or, maybe you are traveling in the high season. For example, a few weeks back we took a trip to New York City and had a really difficult time finding a good deal on lodging, in part, because it was Fleet Week.

Whatever your situation, the goal is to save money and that’s why it’s important to add promo codes for cheap and hotels to your travel planning tool belt. Now, if you’ve got loads of money and don’t mind paying the full rate for your travel, then you can go ahead and stop reading. However, if you would like to utilize travel discounts to help you save, then by all means keep reading.

When you are saving for your vacation any discount can go a long away, especially if you are traveling to a cheaper destination. Think about your savings in term of what it can get you during your trip. For instance, if you are traveling to South East Asia, the $30 you save on a flight could go to several good meals or even a night’s rent at beach side accommodation. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook smaller discounts when you are shelling out hundreds or thousands of dollars, but it’s imperative to always try to put your savings in perspective as I showed above.

Just to give you an example of how easy it is to find internet travel discounts, here are a couple online deals I found for travelocity.ca:

– Florida Vacations: Orlando, Miami and more up to 50 percent savings.

– Discover the great Canadian outdoors with discounts up to 35 percent.

This is just a smattering of the deals available. But now that you know, get it out there and save some money on your travels.
