Update: Breaking Oregon, the Big C, New Buggl Guide & Win A Weekend in any City.
Last we talked, Beth, Chachy (our almost fearless 10-pound hound) and I were jetting across the country to experience the wonder that is Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. Well, I’m happy to report that we got to experience the national park in all of its snowy glory, and it was magnificent.
Something else happened to us along the way in southern Oregon, though, we met a whole lot of passionate people doing some pretty amazing things, so you won’t want to miss our upcoming stories from the trip, especially if you like beer, wine, cheese, chocolate, coffee and gorgeous landscapes. In the meantime, you can check out our Instagram page as well as Travel Oregon’s Instagram account to get a sneak peek of what we discovered on our Pacific Northwest journey.
Currently, we’re in San Diego for roughly 24 more hours. After Oregon, we flew down to help out a good friend of ours who is currently fighting the Big C, and kicking its ASS! Honestly, the past 10 months have been riddled with a number of our friends and family, including a furry one too, having to battle cancer, and I’m happy to say they’re all doing amazing.
While we’ve been in San Diego, I have been working on our latest guide for Buggl. You may remember we put together our first collection of digital travel guides in February. We had a great response to our first series, so we decided to sign on to create several more over the next couple of months.
Our newest guide for the platform is “Travel Thru Emilia-Romagna: 48-Hours in Italy’s Food Capital,” and it is packed with insider information from our travels in the region, where we got to delve into the local scene with help from our good friend Nick Montemaggi of Emilia-Romagna tourism. If you love Italy and you love food, but have never been to this region in Northern Italy, then you need to stop reading this now, and go book a flight…yes, I know that’s a bit extreme, but Emilia-Romagna is seriously that awesome! Alternatively, if jetting off to Europe at this very moment isn’t doable, then our travel guide coupled with this free e-book “Art Cities of Emilia-Romagna,” will help keep your wanderlust stoked until you can make the trip.
Create your own guide and win
Apparently, Buggl is in a weekend getaway kind of mood for the month of May, and is offering anyone who creates a “48 Hours in the City” guide during the month a chance to win an all expenses paid 48 hour getaway to any city in the world with spending cash! Learn all about the contest and details at http://www.buggl.com/48hours.
O.K., on the note, I’m going to have to say adios, so I can go out and scourer San Diego for my next guide: “Skate Thru San Diego: 48 Hours in America’s Finest City.”
Oh yeah, and if you do create a guide for Buggl, let us know about it in the comments, so we can help promote it for you through our social channels!

I’m with you Marie, I really love Italian food too. Yeah, you should give a guide a go. Every month or so it seems like Buggl has a new contest, so if you see one that strikes your fancy, I say go for it!

Hi hope you are enjoying San Diego. We are just about to hit the publish button on our very 1st Buggl guide, “48 hours in Wollongong: A weekend away from Sydney that couldn’t be closer”. Quite daunting so we will see how it goes. Will let you know when it is up and would really appreciate a push along from you.
Take care, Paula

Awesome stuff, Paula! Sorry I’ve been a little behind, but I plan on pinning your guide to Pinterest tomorrow. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Nice guides guys! Just curious, how have you been doing with them? I’m thinking of getting in on this game myself!

Thanks Jeremy, appreciate the kind words! We’ve had more than 70+ downloads of our guides, but at this point it’s just a little extra income, as a lot of our guides are free or $1. As Buggl continues to grow, I expect the number of downloads to grow with it. I know that they’re working hard to drive traffic and grow engagement, so it should be interesting to see where they’re at in another six months.
