A month or so ago we were contacted by the fine folks over at Travel Longer Magazine who asked if we would consider being interviewed as their travel experts. This magazine not only looks gorgeous (consistently full of great photography!) but it is always chock full of excellent travel information. To top it off they have worked with a lot of top bloggers and travel photographers including none other than Steve McCurry. Steve McCurry is probably the most well known travel photographer in our time. He works for National Geographic and you’ll know this famous photo of his the minute you lay eyes on it.

We were already excited to be interviewed and featured in Travel Longer Magazine but then discovering that my photos would be in the same magazine that had published Steve McCurry, well let’s just say I was over the moon! He is such an inspiration of mine so it was very exciting for me. Just about as exciting as when my images were published in the same article with photos from Henri Cartier-Bresson in Just Be Magazine – something I will write about here soon!

Travel Longer MagazineWhat is Travel Longer Magazine?

Travel Longer is a magazine dedicated to making the most out of your travels and helping people to, you guessed it, travel longer – a topic we love! I firmly believe if everyone could take just a few months and travel the globe, the world would be a much better place. We were really happy to have our interview focus on WWOOFing because it is the best way that we’ve found to travel longer on a budget.

It is also the best way to immerse yourself in the culture of a new place. For instance, during the two weeks we spent WWOOFing on a vineyard in Italy, we only spent $100 (food & drinks at a local pub) and we saw a very authentic side of Italy, we met amazing friends and literally had the time of our lives. We’ve been hooked on WWOOFing ever since, and we were more than happy to share some of our WWOOFing advice, tips and stories with Travel Longer so that their subscribers could also learn how to spend more time on the road and spend less while doing it.
