The Burgeoning Wine Scene of Northern Ohio.

By Posted in - Ohio & Travel Blog & U.S.A. on August 25th, 2013 Sandusky wine tasting at Mon Ami historic winery.

Over the last couple of years I’ve been fortunate to sip wines in places I never thought possible. It’s been a dream really. When we started Beers & Beans nearly six years ago, I had know idea that I’d have the chance to taste the wine–often times cheap, but always so delicious–in so many different countries.

Honestly, since we hit the road three years ago, I’ve never really tallied up all the unique places that Beth and I shared a bottle of wine. We’ve popped bottles from California campgrounds to Turkish fairy chimneys, and so many different points in between. However, one of my favorite spots, may surprise you a little…Sandusky and the Lake Erie Shores and Islands.

Yep, I’m talking about Ohio. The state where the Midwest begins surprised me, again. It’s burgeoning wine scene had us thinking about wine, dreaming about wine and being inspired by wine.
