A Dream Come True – Visiting The Galapagos!.
[google1]
I have some fantastic news!
This Tuesday we are headed to the Galapagos with Adventure Life!
I am SO excited. Honestly I can’t get it out of my head how excited I am about this trip. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE animals and snorkeling so I am psyched that I get to combine both on this trip. And I mean it’s the Galapagos – THE GALAPAGOS!
This is a bucket list dream of mine so I am over the moon. I’m literally pinching myself. I just can’t believe it!
We’ll be spending about 5 days on the islands cruising from spot to spot and in addition we’ll have a couple days in Quito.
In Quito we’ll be checking out the city, hitting up the Otavalo Market, heading up the Aerial Tram for a spectacular view of the city and we’ll also be heading on a Middle of the World tour – yup that’s right we’ll be standing on the equator!! I’ll have to do the special water swirl test while I am there!
I’m bringing an underwater camera and a waterproof bag for the Iphone so we plan to do plenty of updates while we are there – so if you’ve always wanted to visit the Galapagos be sure to follow all of our social networks for real time updates!
If you’ve been to the Galapagos or Quito please let us know if you have any tips or suggestions for our trip – food, clothing, special animal viewing spots, gear, etc. We would love take you up on some of your suggestions and see if we could provide you with a live update of your travel tip!
We’re really exciting to be going on this trip with Adventure Life because they specialize in all types of adventure tours – they have everything from cruises in the Middle East, trips to Antarctica and everything in between. Their tours look pretty awesome, we’re expecting to have a great time and can’t wait to report everything back to you! They have a pretty great Facebook page too with lots of great photos – hopefully some of ours will be on their soon!
Oh I should also mention, this will be our very first trip across the equator and to South America – all sorts of travel excitement going on right now!
The blue footed boobie, the seals, the penguins, the turtles….oh the possibilities!

Sounds amazing! The Galapagos are very high on my list but due to getting severe seasickness I’ll have to do one or those trips where you camp out when the time comes. Living on a boat for 5-7 days is just not for me. I’m looking forward to seeing your photos and hearing about your experience!

We had a great time at the Galapagos but if you do get sea sick I def. recommend not going on the boat – a couple days out there were really rough.

Hi Beth and Randy,
Our mutual fried, Jon Kish, told us about your website and recommended that we check it out since we also love to travel and just started a blog. Your website and photos are amazing! The Galapagos is also very high on our bucket list and we can’t wait to visit. We look forward to hearing about your trip and seeing the pictures. We have young kids so we won’t be able to do a cruise, but we found a promising lodge that we could use a base for day trips until they get older.
We will be following all of your adventures from now on!

@Jennifer,
I am so glad you guys stopped by to say Hi. 🙂 Can’t believe you found us through Jon; that is just so awesome! I completely understand not doing the cruise until your kids are older, and I think staying at the lodge and doing day trips out sounds like a fantastic idea. You guys will love the Galapagos Islands. It’s a pretty amazing place. Do you know what island the lodge is on?
I’m really looking forward to following along on your adventures too! If you ever need anything or have any questions about travel blogging, just drop me a line at randy (at) beersandbeans.com.

I generally don’t collect too many regrets while traveling, but not making it out to the Galapagos when I was in Ecuador is certainly one of them. At the time I really didn’t have the money for the ‘extra’ trip, but it is one of those things that I probably should have thrown onto the credit card and worried about later.
Glad to hear you made it back safely and that your journey didn’t end up getting Vonnegut-y 🙂

I remember that feeling. I went there a few years ago and was so excited to be heading to the GALAPAGOS. That mystical place. It didn’t disppoint.
