It’s no secret that Randy and I are big fans of Paris. It’s such an inspiring and beautiful city. I can’t wait to move there one day, even if it’s only for a few months.

We’ve camped on the Seine (yes, you can do that and it’s a great way to see the city on a budget), we’ve stayed in the world’s worst hostel (it’s called Lucky Youth – Do NOT stay there) and we’ve stayed in super cute Paris studio that overlooked Matisse’s flat and was so close to Notre Dame we could hear the bells!

This past November we were lucky enough to return to Paris for a few days and as we were searching for apartments we really wanted two things: 1. to stay in Montmartre, which is our favorite district and 2. to stay in a place that had a view of the Eiffel Tower. We were lucky when we found this fantastic Paris apartment and we got both. One step out onto the balcony and we were blown away by the view.ย  I think we just stared without speaking for a minute straight!

Over the few days we were there was saw incredible cloud formations roll over Paris, spreading rays of sun all over the city like a warm blanket. The kind you get right out of the dryer and snuggle with. I always knew Paris had the best light I had seen anywhere but this really took the cake. Some days we just didn’t want to leave the apartment, we just wanted to stay right there on the balcony in a bliss-ed out haze watching it unfold.

It was INSANE how beautiful it was and the rays of light always settled perfectly on Ms. Eiffel.

I took some photos (ok, I took a crazy amount of photos) of the views and these are some of my favorites. I hope you like them too! I also took a full time lapse video of the sun setting over the city. I have not yet created a time lapse video so if someone has recommendations on what program I should use please let me know – I would really appreciate it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yeah, I want to point out that ALL of these sun rays are real, not a single one has been edited into these photos. This is just the insanely beautiful city of light doing her thing.

Simply breathtaking. Light can really have an effect on photography, and you have worked it beautifully into these shots. Love the post processing of the 5th image.

Speechless! Brilliant work is an understatement here. Though I have not visited Paris, but definitely I am going to visit this place soon. Can I know what the best time to visit Paris is?

We always visit Paris in the fall – well that seems to be when we end up in Europe. I have also been there right before Christmas. Both times are great but I prefer the fall because the weather is still really nice but there are less crowds and things are cheaper.

These are incredibly stunning photographs! The light effect is mystic. As if the heavens are cracking ๐Ÿ˜€
But how amusing: same landscape, such different hues. Tells something about the city which has seen a potpourri of cultures.
