So you say you want a revolution?

Well here’s your chance to see where the revolution began. For pop music lovers there is no better place than Liverpool to see where the greatest masters of pop got their start. With so many Liverpool Apartments to rent for your holiday you can really have the chance to experience Liverpool as a local.

Considered the World Capital of Pop, Liverpool is home to several large music festivals throughout the year, including Summer Pops and the Mathew Street Festival as well as the fantastic classical music scene courtesy of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Even if you’ve already committed to one of the many London Apartments short stay for your vacation, there is no reason not to consider a day trip to Liverpool. Sure, it’s a few hours by train but it’s worth the ride. Get yourself a bottle of wine (or beer) throw on some Beatles tunes and sing your way right to Beatles heartland.

Hot Spots for Beatles Fans:

Regardless if you are staying in Liverpool or just coming in for the day, here are the key places you’ ll want to see as a Beatles fan:

  • The Cavern Club
  • John Lennon Childhood Home
  • Paul McCartney’s Childhood Home

The Cavern Club, where it all began, is on Mathew Street. It’s a great place for an afternoon beer or some live music at night. The childhood home of John Lennon at 251 Menlove Avenue (Mendips), while Sir Paul McCartney grew up at 20 Forthlin Road in Allerton. Each one is now a National Trust property.

Oh this is a sweet guide. If I made it to Liverpool, I would seek out all of these Beatles spots like a shameless tourist.

Sometimes being a shameless tourist is the best way to travel 🙂 @Scott – Quirky Travel Guy,

So happy you posted this. I absolutely loved Liverpool and really don’t think it gets enough attention. I visited about five years ago, mainly to go on a Beatles pilgrimage. By the way, some other great spots for Beatles fans to visit are Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane. I wish I had more time there. The locals are so friendly and I’m mad about the accent. My boyfriend’s dad was a skowser, so Liverpool holds a very special place in his heart. He’s a huge LiverpoolFC fan. I can’t wait to visit the city with him and go to game at Anfield. When I was there they were talking about building a massive Beatles themed hotel, with rooms based on different song. I wonder if that ever happened.
