Wow – Hostelbookers notified us of an fantastic sale they are having now – check it out! The good news is the extended the sale until the end of February!

Whether you are heading back to school, college, work or just a bit down in the dumps with northern hemisphere wintry weather, January can be a dreary month. The best way to deal with these January blues is to book yourself a holiday. And with HostelBookers’ January Sale in full swing, now is the time to bag some 2011 deals and book accommodation with up to 30% off.

Here are just a few of the destinations featured in the sale.

Amsterdam

If you enjoyed a few too many mince pies at Christmas, Amsterdam is a great place to ease yourself into gentle activity. The city is made for cycling with well-mapped routes and cycle lanes. Alternatively, take it easy and wander the pretty streets or pop in to one of the many art galleries. If you are looking for hostels Amsterdam has plenty in the city centre.

Singapore

From the moment you land in Singapore’s award-winning Changi Airport you know you are entering a slick operation. The city is well-groomed and as much a key destination for designer label-lovers as for those with a keen eye for antiques. For refueling, there are delicious cheap eats to savor in the hawker centres. If you have never stayed in a hostel Singapore boasts some very stylish boutique hostels.

London

With preparations for the 2012 Olympics well underway and a royal wedding in the pipeline, London is the place to be for 2011. If you stay in a central youth hostel London transport offers easy access to the rest of the city.

Beijing

According to recent UNWTO tourism reports, China was the fourth-most-visited country in 2009 and Beijing was certainly scrubbed up very nicely for the 2008 Olympics. Book hostels in Beijing and discover what all the fuss is about.

Los Angeles

With over 20 beaches to choose from Los Angeles really is the place to soak up the sunshine. There are plenty of people-watching opportunities along Venice Beach or have a whirlwind romance with the stars along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Look out for free events and a free breakfast at hostels in Los Angeles.
