Great Handmade & Offbeat Christmas Ideas for Travelers!.
Remember my post about Marco and the boys on the train in Sorrento? I passed around my beloved travel journal for the boys to write their names in. Well I’m a pretty lucky girl. My sister Bridgette is the amazing founder of Earmark Invitations and she is also a travel junkie. Now wait – I know you’re thinking – what do invitiations have to do with traveling? Well fear not – not only does she make killer invitations but she also makes amazing stationary and travel gift packs for the travel writer in all of us!!! The journal I passed around on the train was indeed one of her very own handmade travel journals!
Being a travel nut, like me, a lot of her work is inspired by travel so I decided to write up a post about some of her adventure packs just in time for the holidays! If you are in need of a gift for a traveler on your list (or you just want something awesome for your next upcoming trip) then check out these fabulous, travel writing ideas below.
You can purchase all of these items on her site – EarmarkInvitations.com and because she loves me she is offering a 15% off discount to anyone who orders after reading this post. Just enter the code Adventure15 at checkout. You can also check out her etsy site for some more inspiration (but no promo code is offered on that site.)
Everyone needs a little adventure in their life…

All items are safely tucked inside a lovely muslin bag. Makes a great presentation while keeping your items safe and sound! Buying this set saves you $6.00 over buying the items individually, save on shipping too with this combined shipping rate!
2. You can also buy some of her engraved pencils individually as well.
These things are pretty cool and sell like hot cakes. Also if you love Anchorman or The Office – she has some inspired pencils for that too! These sell for $6 (6 pencil pack). These make awesome stocking stuffers.
3. Travel Inspired Magnets
Yes, you’ve been dreaming about trips to exotic places. Why not remind yourself what you’re saving for every time you open the fridge? I love these guys. Check these out up close and personal on her site. A mere $21 gets you a package of 6 assorted magnets – enough for you and your travel friends!
4. Travel Journals
Face it. This is one of the most important travel essentials you can have on the road. This is a travel necessity that doesn’t need to be plugged into a wall, won’t get stolen, doesn’t need to be carried in a padded bag and can fit pretty much anywhere. Makes a great gift for anyone headed out onto the road. I know this because I have about 50 of them! I use mine all the time and I love that they are a smaller size, can fit anywhere and are very lightweight. This is my camera when I can’t take my camera out for safety reasons. In 50 years I hope I can pass my travel journals onto one of my grand kids. These sell for $6 – $12 depending which one you want and go great with the pencils above! She has many more than what I am showing here – take a look here at her other travel journals.
5. Banners
Want to send your friend/family member off on their journey in style? One of her banners will do the trick. She can custom make them to say whatever you want. The sky is the limit. She made one for us when we set off our journey and displayed it in the house the day before we left. It was so sweet, I felt missed before I was even gone! These banners are so versatile, I even use a “Just Married” one when I photograph bridal parties! Don’t take my word for it. Go and check some of them out for yourself.
These are just a couple ideas for great gifts. She has travel prints for sale and other cards, journals, pencils, etc. Although not everything is travel related, a lot of the items are hysterical – like the “Thanks for Nothing Card” or the You Cheapen Me pencil. You’ll be sure to find something for anyone interested in travel or with a great sense of humor!

I love the journals. O my gosh they’re just soo beautiful. I use to take couple of bookbinding workshop classes from Japanese book binding to leather book emboss.. I’ll take some picture and show you later. But I’m so in love with different type of journals. You’re sister did a great job on the design! Props to her and thanks for the code share.
