The Maldives consist of 1,192 coral islands collected into 26 coral atolls in the Indian Ocean. All this week we are going to take you into the heart of one of the country’s most luxurious islands: Gili Lankanfushi.
We spent five days at the eco-friendly resort. And there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss it. Don’t get me wrong, I dig New England, but I love warm water even more, especially when it surrounds my villa. Everything–storms, breezes, sunny days–feels intensified when you are living over the water.

A coldness has crept into our days here in Manomet Beach. And the water, well, the water was never particular warm anyway, but now it’s sinking back into the lows 60’s…far too cold for my fragile skin. So our photos from the trip have become even more important as autumn marches crisply into our lives, providing me with an undeniable warmth like only the Indian Ocean can.
