Wanna help create a better world?
Maybe you don’t have the time to embark on a large scale trip yourself but think it’s a great idea? Maybe you just won the lottery or just have some spare cash lying around that you want to do something good with?
Engage yourself with the world.
Donate a few “beans” and we’ll use it to feed, educate, clothe & house hungry people & animals we meet around the world.
You can specify what you want the money to go towards, esp. if you would like it to go to a particular region.
For instance, maybe as a child you always wanted a pair of hip, new sneakers but there wasn’t enough extra money for a splurge of that kind. You remember always having to wear the same shoes as a kid and for some reason you also have a fondness for the Mongolian poeple. You might want us to find a 10 year old child in Mongolia who is in need of new shoes and buy him/her a pair. Consider it done – and we’ll email you the picture!
Perhaps you are an artist and visited Peru at one point in your life and fell in love with it. Maybe you would love to see an ophanage outfitted with enough paint and brushes for every child because you know that everyone should have the ability to show their creative side. Or maybe you’re an animal lover and want to donate supplies to the painting elephants in Thailand. We’ll do it and send you a picture of all the smiling faces and/or happy elephant trunks!
You could also be a sex ed. teacher and would like us to distribute condoms to the participants of the Singaporian sex trade in an effort to keep people disease free for at least a few nights. We can do that too. However in this case, we will probably not send you a picture of your donation in use! We will send you a picture of us passing them out.
Some other ideas:
Provide groceries for a Morroccan family for a week
Books for a school in Kenya
Medical supplies for a hospital in rural India
Building materials for a home in Tibet
Bird food for all the parrots in a Costa Rican sanctuary
These are just a couple random examples. The sky is the limit! Please email us your ideas. It could be anything, as long as it helps to make a positive difference.
We can also use the money here in the U.S. if you want. Currently we are in Southern California and will go anywhere in the surrounding regions to deliver your tidings of good will. We can also locally travel to Mexico/Baja without a problem.

The goal of Beers And Beans has always been to help others and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. As such, we will always use it for a good cause and for helping other people we meet around the world, unless of course you think we look weary from the road and could use a drink. You can also specify it as beer money or to help us with travel costs. That works too! Please remember that we will never use it for our own purposes unless you tell us to.
We will always provide you with a photo of your “beans” in action so be sure to provide us with a valid email address as well. There is no minimum or maximum.
People who have donated and are making a difference:
Auntie Adele – $20 – Unspecified, use in the best way you see fit.
Auntie Annie & Uncle Bernie – $50 – Please use for the person you meet anywhere on your travels that needs it the most.
Cool, found what i was looking for.

I think you are really spelling it out – this will make an awesome resource for those thinking of heading down south
Sounds exciting! I like the tip about not speaking Spanish at all. I found the same thing when I tried to speak Russian abroad, they would attempt to ask more questions and such. Very annoying.

Very good points. Mexico sounds tough to drive through. But if people follow your points, I think that it can be done safely. Thanks for sharing, we have always had this romantic dream about driving from Toronto through to Central America. Maybe we will get around to it one day with you as inspiration!

I appreciate the time you took to put your post together. I’ve been trying to detective work this for a while that’s how I came accross your site. It seems like there is so much conflicting things around. Other than your own understanding do you have other resources that you’ve been able to put together? In any case I’ve bookmarked this post so I can follow the thread.
I can’t figure out how to subscribe to the comments via feed . I want to keep up to date on this, how do I do that?
I really like your blog! I hope you’ll keep on posting such a good posts.
