From The Grand Canyon With Love.

This photo was taken while driving in Arizona on the way to the Grand Canyon. The windshield was a bit dirty and on the lonely highway it turned the sun into a dripping, melting mess. This is one of my favorites from the trip and is also part of the Out The Window Series.

In other news – have you heard about the plummeting Euro?? Today it was at $1.24 and it’s continuing to drop! Since we are headed to Europe in a few months I am watching it almost daily and I’m going to buy some Euro’s before we head out to take advantage of the savings. Is anyone else planning something similar or paying attention to the currency rates? I’m guessing this is mostly due to what is happening in Greece but I’m not 100% sure. I have heard that Italy, Ireland & Portugal are expected to have similar economic problems in the near future. I’m watching out for some cheap airfare!

The Grand Canyon is a natural spectacle. If you haven’t made the trek out you need to. It’s amazing. If you have some time try to do some hikes into the canyon. If you’re not a hiker and you have several months to plan try to book a mule ride down. Be warned though – I’ve heard it’s much scarier than the hike! The Grand Canyon is a deep abyss – do you really want to be on top of a mule while you wind down 1 – 2 foot trails? I don’t think I could handle it.

Not into hiking? There are plenty of activities to partake in while in Arizona like white water rafting or golfing.

Although golfing is a popular sport for most travelers on the east coast (from Orlando to Maine), the desert has some great courses as well. If you’re a golfer headed to Arizona try to carve a little time out from the Grand Canyon for some time on the green. Sedona and Scottsdale golf packages are great ways to round out your trip.

Sedona – I took this one by leaving the polarizing filter on (which creates the black vignetting on the corners) and then I fogged up the lens with my breath.

Over Thanksgiving we took a road trip to the Grand Canyon & Sedona. The sky was amazing during the ride out and I was able to get a lot of great shots that I really LOVE. They were shot out the window of the car (one of my favorite ways to shoot) and the colors are the actual colors of the sky.

Because the journey is more important than the destination – welcome to the sky paintings.
