Travel Photo Of The Week – Small Town America in Sandusky, Ohio

photo of the week 4

Image: Acme Barber Shop in Sandusky, Ohio USA  Sandusky is a small town city on the shores of Lake Erie in Ohio. It’s a cute little spot with just enough to keep you entertained for a couple days before you take a ferry over to the islands, which describe themselves as the “Midwest Key West” and it’s a pretty accurate description. The islands are party central with most people getting around via golf carts and…

Travel Photo Of The Week – Palm Tree in Maldives

photo of 233k

Image: Palm Girl Sway, Maldives Palm Tree in Maldives taken at Gili Lankufushi island. The place is drop dead beautiful in every way and relaxing beyond belief. I like this lonely giant palm swaying in the breeze like a hula girl over the backdrop of the overwater bungalows. These bungalows are so private that they are only accessible by boat. So James Bond style.   Want more travel photos? Check out our other weekly travel photos or…

Image: San Trovaso Squero in Venice, Italy  We’re starting a new segment here on Beers & Beans – travel photo of the week! I realized when going through some old images this past week that there are so many good photos that never really get highlighted on our site and I thought I’d change that. Some of our loyal readers may remember the Somewhere In Time portfolio (my personal travel collection) but in the past year I’ve…

You Know You Can’t Hold Me Forever – Moloka’i, Hawaii – Somewhere In Time Travel Photo

Molokai 2 sfb sm

This is Moloka’i. It’s a small Hawaiian island that gets missed by most travelers who focus on the bigger islands. Now I haven’t been to every Hawaiian island but I have been to Oahu (I ran a marathon up Diamond Head volcano), Maui and most recently Moloka’i. Moloka’i is my favorite. It’s not to say that the others aren’t great. They are. Let’s be honest it’s Hawai’i – all the islands are stunning, beautiful and…

Children Around The World – A Photo Essay

young boys from Tanzania smiling

[google1] Editors Note: This is a guest post by fellow travel blogger Susan Shain. Please see her bio below to learn more about her. Traveling to a new country is a journey into another world. The language is different. The food is different. The music is different. Even the smells are different. But one thing that stays the same? The kids. I’ve worked with children in the United States, Tanzania, South Korea, and Nicaragua, and…
