Hi Emily - thanks so much I'm glad you like all the photos. To be honest, i don't know if I could handle the mule ride either. - Beth

This is a stunning photo--I love the vivid colors. I found you via your Almost Fearless guest post, and I loved those images. I have always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, but have only seen it when flying over it! One day I will get there, though not sure I can handle the mule ride!

What a beautiful photo. We met so many people that have traveled through the States lately, that we are feeling a road trip may have to be in the works in the near future. We have never been to the Grand Canyon and would love to hike it. At Everest you could hire a horse if you like and we thought the same thing...That would be crazy, hiking is much safer:)

I HIGHLY recommend the Rim to Rim to Rim hike, which is possible in a day if you're in shape though you have to pick the right time of the year to do it. If you don't want to do the whole thing a stay at Phantom Ranch (booked a very long time in advance unless you get a cancellation) and finish the hike the next day. You can return via a shuttle or retrace your steps - though there are actually a few options heading down from the South Rim.

Nice shot BTW.
